Whether you’re looking for an honest critique (beta read) of your manuscript, a final set of eyes to comb through it before you hit “send,” or you need help polishing the story so it’s the best manuscript possible, I’m the editor you’re looking for.
Let’s face it: everyone needs a little extra help sometimes. In the writing world, that help comes from your editor and beta reader. Allow me to assist you in crafting an amazing story to put out into the world.
If you’re interested, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information to inquire about services:
- Attach a MS WORD document (.doc, .docx, .rtf) containing the first 5 pages of manuscript. Please do not send complete manuscripts unless requested.
- In the body of your email, include the synopsis (blurb) for your piece.
- Submissions will be approved within 3 business days. A critique of the first 5 pages along with track changes corrections will be returned to you, as well as estimated turn-around, and next steps.
I provide the option of three different editing services, in addition to plot critique (beta read). Please contact me if you have questions about any of the available services, require a service not listed, or aren’t sure which service is right for you. HERE is a website that explains the types of editing.
Deelylah (my writing/editing partner) even mathed for you, to give you a ballpark idea of fees without whipping out a calculator.

$0.004 per word. Proofreading is designed to be the ‘last stop’ before a manuscript is submitted for publication, including synopsis and author bio. A 50,000 word manuscript would be $200.
I will read your manuscript, identify plot holes/inconsistencies, and provide constructive feedback and suggestions to improve your story. Fees for this service are $0.003 per word. A manuscript of 50,000 words=$150.
Publishing a book takes several people to make a beautiful end product. The following are a list of people I trust with my own books, so if you decide you need additional services, these are the people I suggest:
Editor: Deelylah Mullin. Deelylah is my partner in crime. If I do your developmental edit, check with Deelylah for a copy edit or a proofread. I trust her with my babies. And my daughter, too.
Editor: Chris Allen-Riley. Chris is responsible for about twelve of my plot bunnies and put the idea in my head for my first ever paranormal romance/series. She’s a brilliant editor and a constant source of inspiration.
Cover Artist: Kris Norris. Kris has made all of my covers (with the exception of my self-pubs), and I will never have anyone else make a cover for me again. The one she made for Lost Treasure is a big reason why I nearly sold out at my very first book signing–everyone kept coming by to check out the cover!
PayPal is utilized for invoicing and billing purposes. Fees will be invoiced upon manuscript return. All fees in US dollars.
Deelylah Mullin, author/editor.
Diana Castilleja, author.
Joy Daniels, author.
