She lay face down on the table, breathing in the scent of the peppermint oil the masseuse poured on her back. It was cool to the touch, a much needed distraction from all of the craziness of her day. As the manager of the most popular restaurant in San Antonio, it was her job to put out fires – both figurative and sometimes literal. Today, she’d had to deal with the owner’s son throwing yet another fit and walking out. She was to the point where she needed to quit and move on. For now, she just wanted to relax, enjoy her massage, and forget about anything having to do with work.
